About

DARMI VAULT™ / PARIS / EST. 2025

Started as a personal archive. Became a label.

Apparel, objects and ideas, released in numbered volumes rather than seasons. Each run is produced once, capped, and closed. Designed in Paris, shipped worldwide.

Our Story

Before it was a label it was a folder on a laptop. Screenshots. Price tags photographed in shops that were out of reach. Blurry pictures of strangers in Paris who had worked out something about proportion. Drawings in the margins of pages that were supposed to be about algorithms.

It was an archive of a world that did not exist yet, kept by someone with no permission to build one. At some point the folder got heavier than the excuse.

The activity began in October 2025. The label was registered in Paris that December. What had been a private collection of references became something other people could own — numbered, limited, and finite by design.

DARMI VAULT is run by Younouss Diaw, who also writes everything in the journal and answers the emails. There is no team behind a brand voice. When you write in, he is who replies.

The name is not decoration. A vault is where you keep what you refuse to let go of, and the label works the same way: pieces enter it, some sell out, some close, and all of them stay on record. The archive is the proof.

Normal is a default setting. Defaults can be edited.

The Idea

Redefining Normal

Most product exists because a factory had capacity, not because anybody wanted it. It is made in quantities that guarantee a sale at the end of the season, and that sale is priced in from the start. That is the default.

We make pieces for people who would rather build their own world than fit into someone else’s. Not as a slogan — as a production constraint. A run is designed, produced once, numbered and closed. If it is wrong, it stays wrong and the next volume is better. There is no second print run to hide behind.

Redefining normal is not about being loud. It is about noticing that almost everything around you is a default somebody else chose, and deciding which ones you are keeping.

The City

Paris

Designed in Paris, and drawn from it. Not the postcard version — the 7am metro, the lecture hall, the walk home. The city where you notice how people actually dress because you are standing next to them, not scrolling past them.

Paris is in the work as discipline more than as decoration. It shows up in proportion and restraint, in what gets left off a garment rather than what gets added to it.

We say designed in Paris and nothing more, deliberately. Where a garment is manufactured is a regulated claim, and we are not going to make one we cannot evidence.

How It Is Made

Made to order

A finished run, packed — before dispatch

Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting for a buyer. Your piece goes into production the moment you order it — cut, printed, finished, then inspected before it is allowed to leave.

That takes 20 to 30 days, and we are not going to pretend otherwise or bury it in a footnote. It is a real trade: you wait, and in exchange nothing you own was mass-produced on the chance that somebody might want it.

It is also why there is no outlet, no markdown season and no restock. There is no leftover stock to discount, because nothing is made before it is claimed. Each run is capped at five units per size — when those five are taken, the size closes and does not reopen.

You get an email when your piece enters production, and another when it ships. Full terms.

The Vault

Volumes, not seasons

We release in volumes. A volume is a chapter, not a season: it opens, it holds a fixed number of pieces, and it closes. No spring/summer, no pre-fall, no repeat of last year in a new colour.

Vol.01 is open now — fifteen pieces. Everything before it is in the archive, sold out and staying visible.

That last part matters. “No restock” is easy to print on a page and hard to keep. Leaving the closed pieces online is the only version of that promise anyone can actually check — and it is what turns a drop into a chapter instead of a deleted URL.

Vol.01 is version one point zero. It ships, it works, and it will look primitive in three years. That is exactly how it should be.
